 Arguments: Youngsters Sports Dissertation

Case: Timmy performs little little league baseball and youth sports through his local park district. Timmy isn't incredibly good at athletics and likes spending his time playing video games. Timmy's coach only puts him in for two innings during baseball games and for merely one fourth with the soccer game. Timmy feels like he cannot associate him self with the other kids on the team that get to enjoy the whole video game, he feels as though they are also good for him. Pro Argument: Equal amusement for all youngsters in children sports should be mandatory and so all players will feel equivalent. Con Debate: Better players should get even more playing time since they may have a chance of any future in playing sports beyond their youth. Response (Pro): Precisely what is the emotional impact on a child who constantly plays 1/4 of a video game while the various other teammates play the entire game? This problem raises a broader concern. What is the basic purpose of children sports? Just how should this purpose become reflected in practices and games? Granted we are increasing somewhat of your philosophical concern here and probably a controversial 1 at that. We feel that the primary purpose of children sports ought to be to teach critical sports expertise in a non-threatening environment. That may be, children must have the opportunity to find out new skills and improve recently learned skills and have fun doing it. Trainers must create an environment in practices and games exactly where children are not afraid to generate mistakes. Using fear of inability as a motivational technique is unwanted. Mistakes happen as part of the learning process. Children who aspire to become better skilled to allow them to move on to more advanced levels of competition have to be willing to have risks and experiment with more complex skill tactics and tactics.
